Catching up...rainwalks, art shows, friendship...

I try to stay on top of things enough that I don't need to write catch-all posts, but this is a journal of our family's life, afterall, and I don't want to leave things out, and sometimes life is just so busy Happening that I don't get right to it. Oh well!

After my earlier post about the sun, we of course were visited by snow. Not much; a beautiful dusting.
Sunday we drove to the woods to celebrate a dear friend's birthday...
Monday we held our last music class of the winter quarter; we'll start up again in a couple of weeks.  Tuesday, the weather blossomed again (fickle fickle March), with 60 degree weather...a hike was in order.
It hasn't stopped raining since.
Wednesday Merch 9 Anipapa DATE breakfst AT THE DINER
A short afternoon visit to our friends on the farm...
We came home with an extra child...
Today we took what our friend M. called a "town walk". "I loooove town walks! You have sidewalks and no mud!"  Up the hill we went, uptown, to O'Betty's for veggie hotdogs...
playing I-spy with all the hot dog memorabilia
Then on to a juried student art show on campus.  The girls weren't quite sure what to make of much of it, but it held their interest and gave us a lot to talk about.  Our friend J. had a performance art piece in it, and is there everyday this week at noon to interact with whomever comes into the gallery.
It was very engaging, and Eliza jumped right in, of course. It was a puzzle, something to figure out, which we did...
On our way home, we spotted some daffodils that had already opened - ours are almost ready.  Such cheery brilliance on a grey day...we made our way home, rain-blurry, wet and content.

thanks for stopping by! (sorry for the inconvenient WORD VERIFICATION - I am receiving a ridiculous amount of spammy computer-generated yuckiness and am hoping this will help...)
