Snowed-in Potluck!!!

We had a potluck yesterday, so the girls did all the chopping and measuring for a pot of lentil soup...
aaaaaand cookies...
We welcomed our guests - some colleagues of Dan's from school and some family buddies of ours...
...and then the unbelievably great thing happened - our friends got SNOWED IN AT OUR HOUSE!!!! Yee haw!!! It didn't snow a lot, as you can see in the pictures, but enough so that the hill to their farm was too slippery to drive...so they spent the night and all day today with us!!!
Yep, those are MY boots!
Of course we played outside, with Mama performing great feats of bravery in rescuing small flying children from sledding right into the road! Then inside to play, and play and play some more.
There was soup eating, and hair cutting and snowflake cutting and the drawing of various interesting body parts and Uno Attack and some couch jumping and game creating (touch something RED for base! run run run run run run run...).
We revived the mapping game we've played before, taking turns to hide the objects, and then we discovered that this whole miracle of a snowed-in sleep-over happened because the littlest of the gang of buddies dreamt it up, which sounds plausible, and we thought about willing it to happen again tonight, but then thought it best to have some time to really sleep before we see each other again at choir on Monday...
So good. Snow good. Get it?

Loads of fun! woohoo!

I'm loving all the bright colors and bright faces in these pictures!

And we've been doing lots of chopping here, too! (I love that Madd competently chops with Eric's chef knife. Cool!)
