eight hundred

Babies, at 3 and 6. September 2008.
Good Grief, can you believe it - this is my 800th post!!! (Did you miss any? They're all over there in the side-bar...)  I've managed to miss all of the other milestones, but this one somehow caught my eye this week, and it brought me up short. 800 records of the last four and a half years of our lives here in Ohio. More than 800 photos of what that life looked like. Wow. (And probably 800 comments each from my mom and my sister!! Such loyal hard-core fans you are...MWAH!)

Wait! Ani's got that mouth now!
I wanted to find a small way to celebrate what feels like an achievement for this family archivist, so I thought I'd invite you all to wallow with me in a bit of nostalgia as I post a few of the earliest days of  Plot 55 again this week. A few funny Ani quotes and wispy fairy hair and adventures...

Just a little disco
What? You think maybe there should be party favors too? Well, of course you do! So I thought I would offer to send the first 8 people to comment here a little something handmade - maybe something along these lines? (And if there are only 2 of you who comment, I can send along extras for you to hide or give away yourselves...and no one has to look around feeling uncomfortable as we wait for everyone else to show up...no worries.)

But on the more serious side - I would be lying if I told you that knowing that people read this blog from time to time didn't matter to me.  I have had the blushing pleasure of being told by someone, shyly, that they read my blog - someone I had no idea even knew I kept a blog - and it made me kind of ridiculously happy.  I didn't let it go to my head (!), but there are days when it's nice to know someone out there is checking in on the minutiae of our days and gives a hoot.  If you are that person, I would LOVE to send you a little thank-you, and if it isn't of the physical kind (you'd have to let me know that you're there, afterall!), let it at least be of the deep-felt, full-hearted, toe-stretching, huge hug-from-afar variety.

Hee hee hee!

I write this blog for my family; I don't offer a product, or pages and pages of tutorials, or expert advice on how to organize your life.  Thank goodness there are other talented people who do all of that.  But I do really appreciate the sharing nature of having a blog, and there wouldn't be sharing without others to share with, so thank you for coming here whenever you do, and I hope that once in a while there is something that you take away with you...Huzzah!!

Weird huh! for me anyway...it's my same old dumb phone, but I figured out i can get very slow internet on it! So, I read your blog!! Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to comment from the phone, so I read it again on the computer!!! Love these older pictures!!

Love you too!!!

I read yours posts, but normally in a reader. But 800? I had to click over and wish you well.

I think as part of a celebration we should send you something, to thank you for writing 800 posts!

800! Holy cow! That's a lot. I'm so glad that you do this, especially now that you live so far from the west coast. It's the best way of keeping track of you all. I can't wait to see what the next year brings for you:)

800 posts! That's seriously impressive. I enjoy peeking into your days. As a fellow unschooling-life-learning-type Mama, I enjoy seeing how learning unfolds in other families as well. I find it inspiring!
