painted garden skulls


An art afternoon with our neighbor yielded some beautiful leaf rubbings, good conversation, and the beginnings of our fall garden decorations.  It started with Eliza wanting to make some spooky tombstones and lead to the painting of pieces of a broken terra cotta pot.




Now our yarden is populated with these fabulous garden skulls!  Spooky and festive...





(We're still making them...we have gathered quite a pile of broken pot pieces.)

I love them so much more than the plastic ghouls in the "fun aisle" at the grocery store. I just wish we could see them from inside the house!
