...and reading and wondering about echidnas...
...and talking about cartilage and why skeletons don't have ears...and digging through the dictionaries for information about, well, everything...
(I came upon the girls here, examining the digestive system, and Ani was exclaiming, Eliza, we're looking at what your body just did!!!!!! And yes, there was lots of talk of poop...)
...and there was showing up at the library to support their generous Homeschoolers Open House and finding that we all had a great time with the stories and the parachute and the book swap, and our friend Jay's presentation on Lewis and Clark...and back home for the cooking and eating of empanadas and more snuggling down in sister's bed for more time with not one but two dictionaries...
...and if I could just gloss over the hour-and-a-half long tantrum my seven-year-old had, it would have been a near-perfect day. And as she took back most of the nasty things she said about me and I didn't totally lose my cool, I guess it was about as perfect as it gets in this imperfect life. Sigh. I'll post more on that when I think I've got it figured out. Everyone is already in bed, 'cause that's the warmest place to be in our house right now, and I think it best that I join 'em! G'night...

An hour and a half huh? I bet you were exhausted. I think Fauna had her first temper tantrum at the age of 7....last year at the book store. It was a long one too. She hasn't done it since though. But she is sassier now then she has ever been. Little concerned about the "tween" years.
Love the board and nail work the girls have been doing. I need to see if we have some thick boards to do that with. We do have some tree stumps that we could put nails in.....

I think about that alot.
I have some pretty "perfect" days - and sometimes that means I don't get angry at all or irritated or bossy, but sometimes it means over-looking accidents at the park or saying the wrong thing.
Sometimes it's all still so good in the end, and I can still say "perfect.". :)
