Friday My Town Shoot-Out: Circles

I have really been enjoying following My Town Shoot-out every Friday on my aunt Kerry's blog, and thought I would join in as another way to challenge me to figure out my camera. This week's theme was chosen by Kerry. All photos were taken in Athens, Ohio.

Drainage pipes, with ice, next to the Hocking River
Cherry tree porthole
Can you find the gnome?
A more spherical take on The Circle - sweetgum pod
Circles upon Circle

Hey you found lots of circles! And you have sweet gum balls just like we do here. Look at Ani wearing that little gnome, and up behind her is a circle in the sky. Beautiful! What kind of paints are you using in that muffin tin?

A beautiful collection of circles. I love the colors and contrast in your picture of the sweetgum pod. And your last picture takes me back a few years!!!!

Kerry - thanks! Yes, I liked the little echo of the circle up in the sky behind her - don't remember what those are called? - the muffin tin has the melted beeswax that we used to decorate our beeswax candles (like the one in the header - ha HA! another circle!).

Sarah-Paige - I enjoyed the circles you found around you as well! Those sweet gums were just begging to be photographed with that blue blue sky...

Oh you so know I am going to like the last one, that was me growing up...already had my restaurant 'mise' and planning at that age, it was destiny for round pots and pans to circle my 'round' world...love it!

Is that polymer clay in the round holder, or paint? I have that, and forgot about it, darn!

It's great to have you join us and I love the rich variety of circles you've found. When you start to look, suddenly circles are everywhere, from the rough texture of a drainage pipe to the smooth surface of a gnome badge.

Welcome! You've made a great contribution to our shoot out. I love the circles of colour and the noisy circles in the last shot. Seems to me you know how to use that camera pretty well already!!

Welcome to MTSO! And I loved the muffin tin with all of those colors, and the last shot also reminds me of my kids playing pot and pan band in my kitchen!
