the weekend

We are not very good at waiting, so we were happy to have a busy day on Friday as we anticipated the Saturday arrival of my sister and niece.  Calendars help with the crossing off of days...

...and the days have been beautiful, so there has been much Out and bare feet, and the making of bows and arrows.

The woods change so much daily; the long-spurred violets were open, and the trillium just about...

And now they're here!! No April foolin'! (Well, there was some foolin' this morning - lots of notes hidden and found and I somehow lost all the silverware and tried to convince early-morning risers that they'd need to eat their pancakes with toothpicks.  Like the oatmeal deception last year, it did not go over so well...When will I learn?!)

We got out this afternoon for a long hike, and everything was blooming. Gorgeous.

It was super muddy, but they were good sports about it and plunged right through, even collecting trash along the way...

I think there might be more of this this week, and maybe even some swimming...

I stumbled across your blog through another blog and have been enjoying your posts! We're also nature-oriented and it's great to see what others are doing! (Love the frogs! They're not quite out here. Too chilly!)
