I was sent out on a walk this morning, and I remembered a destination I used to head for with the girls when they were so little. Needless to say, it took me half the time to get there, though my landmarks were foggy and covered in snow. Turn left at the hedge where we saw the snails, right at the low balancing wall, straight ahead along the boulevard where you can run on the grass in the middle of the street. Things look different when you are navagating without small people.
The labyrinth in the snow was so inviting and peaceful and I was so pleased to see it full of me by the end of my walking. My thoughts, my breath, my footprints. I was here.
