Friday My Town Shoot-Out is a gathering of photographers who share photos of where they live. This week's theme is Red, and while I don't always find the time or the photos to share every week, I was drawn to my archives, searching for a bit of red...All photos were taken in and around Athens, Oh.
Red pops out, even on the very foggiest day...
It can be a warning! The autumn colors of Poison Ivy |
I don't have a lot to say tonight about red, but I sat through an entire eating of an apple, taking pictures of Ani, in her red chair, with her red crown, and let me tell you, it takes a five year old a long time to eat an apple. I was transfixed.
Please take a moment to have a look at others' interpretations of RED! I am always impressed, intrigued, inspired...

A beautiful collection of reds! Love that first photo with the little one rugged up in a red shawl!
I like the first photo too!
Love that picture of Ani. When I was five, it would take me so long to eat an entire, gigantic, apple, that I started to hate apples because I could never finish them and my mom would get mad at me for wasting food. Now I have my own apple tree, with tiny little apples, I eat them all the time.
Great shootout!
Great collection of photos for the color red. Fantastic shot of Ani eating the apple. Not only is she a sweet subject, but the capture is priceless moment in time! Wonderful!
Ani in her crown and chair make a perfect shot I think! And those red berries you have in Ohio DO look a lot like ours here in Oregon; if only I could get my blog title show up as well as yours does, dang it.
These are all wonderful shots! but Ani in the red hat eating the apple is my favorite.
Ani's very cute. And poison ivy can be temptingly beautiful in the fall.

Red balls
I am not a regular shooter too. So I always ended up finding something from my archives. I like the first photo and the red chair very much!
I love those red berries, glad you got it in your header photo.
I love that last photo of Ani.
And what you said about eating an apple cracked me up.
If it takes a five year old a long time, I can assure you that a four year old never finishes. :)
I can't tell you how many nibbled apples we have around here!
I like that first picture in particular, red really does pop out in dull weather!
the pictures of Ani are so cute!! fantastic shoot out!! Merry Christmas!
oh debbie, ani eating an apple, that is beautiful. So is the first foto. So beautiful!!!!!
Debbie, these are gorgeous photos. (And I did check out about 10 or so of the other participants, but yours remain my favourite.)
I love the crop of Ani eating the apples. It's beautiful...and the one of her in her poncho...and the berries. Red during the gray days of winter sure does make lovely photographs. Thanks for sharing. xo
